“Earthstar was an electronic music group originally from Utica, New York, in the United States. Earthstar was the brainchild of keyboardist/synthesist Craig Wuest. The band outed themselves as ardent admirers of that genre as well, especially German electronic artists like Neu, Cluster, Roedelius, and especially Klaus Schulze. After the release of their first album, Salterbarty Tales (1978), by Nashville-based Moontower Records, Wuest was encouraged by electronic music artist, composer, and producer Klaus Schulze to relocate to Germany where Earthstar was signed by Sky Records. Schulze co-produced their second album, French Skyline (1979), which is the only one of their albums to have previously been released on CD.
Earthstar and Klaus Schulze worked together until 1982,after which the musicians returned to the States and went their own ways. The band Earthstar was history.
Now all four of their studio albums ("Salterbarty Tales", "French Skyline", "Atomkraft? Nein Danke!", "Humans Only") will be released as "Collected Works" for the first time on CD. Plus, as a bonus: the previously unreleased album "Sleeper The Nightlifer", which Sky had passed on because it was too different from what listeners were used to from Earthstar. What an interesting discovery!”
