I love Ornette and own a ton of Ornette, but his trio with David Izenzon and Charles Moffett is one of my very favorite of his bands. They emerged in 1962, made a live album for ESP, disappeared for 2 years while Ornette tried to get bookings that represented monetarily what he felt his music was worth (good luck with that, OC!), and then had their biggest spate of activity in 1965 & 1966, with European tours and with a few live recordings coming out on Freedom and Blue Note.

Collage were one of the better of the neo-prog bands that were an important part of the landscape in the 80s (they formed in 1985 and released their first album in 1990). They were also one of the better neo bands over-all, IMO, although being from Poland they didn’t get nearly as much international traction as their UK bretheren.

Not your typical Italian progressive rock CD, this is pretty much unknown and definitely a BIG winner. A huge instrumentation consisting of guitars, bass, drums, percussion, xylophone, keyboards, trombones, trumpets, tuba, clarinets, saxes, flutes, string quartet and vocalists is used as needed.
