A completely legitimate reissue of the first album by A.R & Machines, which also happens to be the best-known and also one of the best of them. Achim Reichel is a mostly forgotten krautrock pioneer whose history traces back to The Rattles (Germany's...

"The first ever reissue of Requiem's For A World After, originally released in 1981. Dark, progressive, synth ambient meets Berlin-School sounds on this obscure kraut album, which "tells the story of a world annihilation through nuclear war." For A World After is full of delayed psychedelic electric guitar, effects, cold drum machines, waves of analog keyboards (Korg MS20, Casiotone 201, Crumar DS-2, Jupiter-4), and cosmic atmosphere.

Long out of print and impossibly rare, this tends to got for $40.00 and up when it can be found (http://tinyurl.com/y9hmkf). Reuter is a tap-guitarist who is probably best known for his work with the Europa String Choir, who released an album about...

"13 short pieces, which fall together as a sort of puzzle, sometimes odd and playful, sometimes rather intense. This international collaboration was conceived and recorded in one intense week at Robert Rich’s Soundscape studio in California. This is an...

First-time ever on CD for this Sky Record title from 1978. At the time, this was the height of modernity in its Kraftwerk-ness. Now it still is fine but boy-oh-boy, synthesizer technology sure has changed!

Of the 14 tracks on Aquarello, 12 are live recordings. Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Nicola Alesini, and Fabio Capanni performed together at the VI Musica Visual in Lanzarote. The liner notes are in German, so listeners are left with no graphic interference"...

"180 gram vinyl pressing. Bureau B presents Flieg Vogel fliege by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, released by Sky Records in 1982. Flieg Vogel fliege (trans. "Fly Bird Fly") is the fifth installment of the "Selfportrait" series, with musical sketches and ideas...

"This is the tenth solo album by German keyboardist Hans-Joachim Roedelius, originally released in 1984 on Editions EG. On Geschenk Des Augenblicks - Gift Of The Moment, Roedelius broke away unequivocally from purely electronic music. If Lustwandel...

"The third studio album by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, originally released by Sky Records in 1981, fulfilled a dream he had long cherished. A series of chamber music pieces, with grand piano solos taking center stage in some places, archaised percussion...

"Offene Türen is a purely electronic album. Without losing himself in their infinite tonal possibilities, Roedelius delights in playing a selection of synthesizers. He even deploys an analog rhythm machine now and then to discreet effect. Roedelius...

"This is the fourth solo album by German keyboardist Hans-Joachim Roedelius, originally released in 1980 on Sky Records. With Selbstportrait, Roedelius gave unequivocal confirmation that he no longer was treading the hitherto common paths of...

"The Diary Of The Unforgotten is a collection of recordings from the years 1972 to 1978 and was first released in 1990 (with different artwork). Between the years of 1972 and 1978, Hans-Joachium Roedelius and Dieter Moebius, later joined by Michael...

"Wenn Der Südwind Weht ("When The South Wind Is Blowing") is the seventh solo album by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, originally released on Sky Records in 1981 (also known under the title Selbstportrait IV). "Where on earth does Roedelius find such a...

This was the first solo album by Roedelius, one half of Cluster and one third of Harmonia, two of the most significant Krautrock bands of the 1970s. In my opinion, this album is by far his greatest achievement as a solo artist (he has a zillion solo...

"11 unreleased compositions by Hans-Joachim Roedelius produced between 1990 and 2001. All of them are pearls of electronic deepness that show another side of the man that lives in the little Lower Austrian town Baden. His famous ultra-sweet piano melodies

Guitarist Michael Rother is a very important part of some of the most exciting and influencial music to emerge from the exciting and influencial German Krautrock scene. He was a founding member of the hugely influencial Neu!, played for a short while...

2nd and final album from the band's lifetime, which was releaesd in 1971 on Pilz, and is taken from the master tapes. Also included is 8 bonus tracks from their final concert in their hometown of Aachen, Germany, from 6/17/72....

I would basically agree with everything in the review below about this excellent and raw early progressive album, although I don't really think they sound so much like Tull at all - maybe a bit like This Was era, but just a bit. Lots of bonus live...

"Re-release of a German avantgarde-punk classic from 1981. Co-produced by Holger Czukay (Can) it was the counterpart of the Czukay album "On The Way To The Peak Of Normal", in which all the members of S.Y.P.H. also took part. The CD comes with booklet with unreleased photos and extensive liner notes by the S.Y.P.H. musicians Harry Rag and Jojo Wolter."

"Their third and last album sacrificed some of their signature-sound in favour of clearer influences from other progressive rock bands, mainly Camel, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant and Barclay James Harvest. But "For All the Clowns" was still their best...

"Previously known as Subject Esq., it seems they changed name to Sahara to get out of a redundant contract with CBS. Personnel wise, the only difference in Sahara was a new keyboardist (Hennes Hering from Out Of Focus), and a full-time lead guitarist...

A previously unreleased album by the Krautrock band famous for the one album they released in their lifetime, Golem.

"Previously unreleased album by German trio Sand, recorded 1973-1982. Live events in the quarry and an archaic sound formed the background music of the young atomic age. In the meantime, after endless trance garage sessions, Sand drifted from the mythical landscapes to Berlin and mingled with various oriental influences. Vultures were scudding along the urban canyons while burning..

"Previously unreleased album by German trio Sand, recorded in 1972. His First Steps is a forerunner of Golem, the legendary 1974 album from the cosmic and psychedelic genius that is Sand. After the split of P.O.T., the early Sand submerged as a threesome in the basement of Claudiusstrasse and built up an alchemical assembling shop, where they resurrected the archetypical Golem. Sand considered themselves as an exile community in a fascinating area -- full of distinctly bizarre energy. Cover painting by...

"Previously unreleased album by German trio Sand, composed and recorded in 1973, '75, and '76. The once-croaking raven now flies silently over the ocean, higher and higher. Where are you rolling, sun-ball, and why don't you fall? The sandy Golem crumbled into dust. His brave struggle against the mighty forces of darkness soon dissolved in voiceless space. There is something magical and inexplicable in creation, and Sand absolutely manifest these mysterious phenomena. Storytellers, musicians, shamans....

"Previously unreleased album from the '70s by German trio Sand. Still living in the mythical landscapes, Sand not not only created Golem, who was a being of the earth. Something else pulsated with a different energy of oscillation. The invisible beings of the air performed their dances. The Golem was large, mighty and of compact matter. He needed an external spirit to be navigated. Sylph creatures moved with the clouds and the wind -- from gentle breezes to violent storms, always sensitive to the chimes...

"The fact that this album appeared at all in 1983 owes less to Günter Schickert and more to Steven and Alan Freeman, who sought him out for their Krautrock encyclopedia The Crack in the Cosmic Egg. On learning that Schickert had heaps of recordings...

I am personally thrilled to see this return to print; it was available on CD over a decade ago, but has been out of print since then. It is a minor German/Krautrock classic from 1979, which was fairly late in the game. Günter Schickert's first album was released on Brain, but this one, originally on Sky, featured Schickert's pulsing, multi-guitar overdubs with simple, but very effective drumming. Also has a small bit of strange, spoken and sung texts, which very nicely adds to the air of mystery/strangeness
