The Finnish instrumental band Alamaailman Vasarat ("The Hammers of Hell") started as an offshoot of Hyry-Kone, but now H-K is gone and the Hell-Hammers remain! The band is a six piece; dual electric cellos (played as a hard-rock instrument and sounding like weird metal guitars), saxes/bass clarinet, trombone/slide trumpet/tuba, pump organ/grand piano and drums. Their sound is sort of an odd combination of hyper-charged klezmer/polka performed with metallic ferocity and with a slightly sinister air ala Univers Zero's 1313. I liked this even more than their already quite great and fun first! Recommended!
