Great price on a great collection of music. This includes 48 tracks from his 1st five releases. Lots of originals (including early original classics like "Parchman Farm" and "Young Man Blues"), but it's the covers that show where Mose was coming from and what he synthesized together: bebop (Charlie Parker and Duke Ellington), blues (two great ones by Willie Dixon + Sonny Boy Williamson), r'n'b (Ray Charles) and classic American songbook tunes (Irving Berlin and others). The young Mose played jazz piano with these wide influences, added accompaniment from double bass and drums and sometimes wrote songs with words that reflected his wry and sly humor. Everyone should own at least one Mose Allison recording; he's an American treasure!
