Ant Trip Ceremony - 24 Hours (Mega Blowout Sale)

SKU 18-CIC 1968CD
"Strange but classic rare album from the psychedelic era, this was recorded in the Ohio state back in 1968. We should call this hippie, West Coast psychedelic folk-rock with Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver influences. The album contains a good number of originals plus a few covers like 'Hey Joe' or the fantastic remake of 'Violets of Dawn'. Forty years after its original release, this is now reissued officially for the first time.” Label says: "In 1968, a group of talented college students at Oberlin College formed a band and recorded their only album, “24 Hours.”
Pressed in scant quantity, this album has become a collector's item, selling for hundreds of dollars. Cicadelic Records is excited to release the complete album on CD with detailed liner notes and photos on the history of the band. The psychedelic sounds that emanate from this album will have listeners 'turn on, tune in, and drop out.'”

A very cool little album that is charming in that you can hear it was "one take" ....probably recorded in a room with the band playing live to the recording device. Here that is a positive! This is the sound of a late night psychedelic jam after hours. Nothing is LOUD , but it's all a bit creepy , and has sly psych sound. It was a "grower" for me. Great stuff....nothing else is like it.
