Aranis - Made In Belgium II

SKU Home 5511
For their sixth album, Aranis have once again have reverted back to their sextet chamber group sound using flute, double bass, piano, guitar, accordion and violin/viola and have once again spotlighted composers from Belgium, instead of all the compositions being by bassist Joris Vanvinckenroye. Some of these composers you will recognize from Wayside Music: Peter Vermeersch (Flat Earth Society & X-Legged Sally), Pierre Chevalier (Univers Zero & Present), Kurt Budé (Univers Zero & Present), Jan Kuijken (Louise Avenue). I know a couple of the others, but most I don't know and it doesn't matter, because everything here is honestly great and this is the latest in a series of really superb releases by this ensemble. Highly recommended.

The tracks are:
Skip XXI (Peter Vermeersch)
Hit (Jan Kuijken/Joris Vanvinckenroye)
Intermezzo I (Pierre Chevalier)
Tolles pferd (Koen Van Roy)
DSK (Maarten Van Ingelgem)
Kablamo (Ananta Roosens)
Intermezzo II (Joris Vanvinckenroye)
Boki II (Ward De Veeschhouwer)
Chanoi (Joris Vanvinckenroye)
La vague (Walter Hus)
Intermezzo III (Pierre Chevalier)
Cell stress (Kurt Budé)
Funambul (Aurelie Dorzée)
