Backdoor were a trio of sax, electric bass & drums. Not progressive rock, not blues, not rock, but a bit of all and maybe even a little more. Bassist/vocalist Colin Hodgkinson was considered one of the greatest bassists of the time, & his work still impresses. The others aren't slouches either! This is three previously unreleased BBC sessions from 1973-74, in great sound. By the time of the third session, the band became a quartet with the addition of Dave MacRae (Matching Mole) on electric piano!
