Romain Baudoin was the hurdy gurdy/vielle a roue player in the great, too short lived, French band, Zaar, where her performed under the name Cosia.
I believe this is his first solo album and here, he performs solo & live in the studio with no overdubs and no looping, on the 'Torrom Borrom', which is a hybrid instrument that combines a vielle a roue and electric guitar (!).
I just LOVE the vielle a roue, and this is someone who is defintely taking this wonderful, ancient instrument into the future.
It comes in a lovely, embossed, hand-assembled folder. Highly recommended to specialized tastes!
