During the recording of Jethro Tull's "This Was" in 1968, there was a serious fight over the direction of the band between the two co-leaders of the group, which ended up with guitarist and vocalist Mick Abrahams leaving. Shortly thereafter he formed Blodwyn Pig, a band that more closely resembled the progressive blues sound he was looking for. The band also included Jack Lancaster (later of Marscape!) on flutes and saxes, Andy Pyle on bass and Ron Berg on drums. This excellent repackage and remastered job includes some rare photos, new liner notes by Mick Abrahams, as well as 7 bonus tracks, mostly from rare singles. This is a pretty darn good progressive blues album from 1969. I hear echoes of Colosseum, (early, great) Savoy Brown and...even "This Was!"
