Bulldog Breed - Made In England (expanded) vinyl lp + 7"(due to size and weight, this price for the USA only. Outside of the USA, the price will be adjusted as needed)

Fun, extremely obscure psych/early prog British rarity, originally released on Nova.

"Official reissue, taken from the original Decca master tapes, of this amazing mod/psych/freakbeat album from 1969, featuring members of T2 and The Flies. The Bulldog Breed album was recorded in mid-1969 but not released by Deram Nova until the beginning of the following year, by which time its thrilling mod/psych sound and commitment to hook-laden, sub-three minute songs was fatally out of sync with the self-indulgence and bombast of the nascent progressive rock era. The psychedelic sensibilities of 1967 still live in 'Paper Man', 'Eileen's Haberdashery Store', while 'Dougal', 'Silver' and 'Top O' The Pops Cock?!?' give us a nasty Deviants proto-punk edge, while the mournful 'Friday Hill' sounds like Caravan on Prozac. Quintessential English eccentricity! In a similar vein as the first Blossom Toes album, we would say. Comes with repro of mega-rare Deram single 'Halo in my Hair' b/w 'Portcullis Gate' as bonus. One of the last landmark albums of the era where a band seemed play exactly what they wanted, instead of opting for either the mainstream or the gutter. Recommended 60's UK Psych!"
