“Audio source for this recording is an audience recorded cassette (not a soundboard tape) so it has all the problems inherent to that genre. The audio quality is no better than the original bootleg vinyl record issued in 1979 by Impossible Recordworks. On a bootleg audio scale I would give this a 5 out of 10. It's a noisy environment to begin with so you have a lot of room noise and occasional side conversation. The whole thing sits in the mid range, there is not much bottom or top end and the instruments are not clearly defined. It also sounds like it was recorded some distance from the stage-not right up front or near the PA speakers.
The band and the Captain are in great form and the performance is excellent. Don't worry about the 'bootleg quality' of this recording. It's enough to hear Don having so much fun.”
