Consider the Source - That's What's Up

NYC's Consider The Source are considered to be a 'jam band', but their sound moves way beyond that. They mix jazz/rock, progressive rock, jamband and world music. They are a trio of guitar/fretless guitar, bass and drums. There are severe nods to East/West fusions ala a electric fusion trio channeling the inspiration of John McLaughlin and Shakti. There's a lot of amazing players out there now and amazing instrumental music is kinda falling off the trees at this point. Having said that, for the most part, this is pretty awesomely great.
