First-time ever release on CD! In my opinion, this is a minor classic of French progressive rock as well as a minor classic of the 'Canterbury sound not created in Canterbury'. Drummer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Forgas emerged seemingly out of nowhere with this album on the progressive Gratte-Ciel label in 1977. Good tunes and good playing, and even a reasonably impressive line-up of musicians: Jean-Pierre Fouquey-keyboards, Dominique Godin-keyboards and sax, Gerard Prevost-bass, Patrick Tilleman or Patrick Lemercier-violin and others. This had a number of shorter tracks on the 1st side and the 18' epic "My Trip" on side two. I always really liked this one and was very happy when after almost 2 decades of seeming dormancy, Patrick emerged with the great Forgas Band Phenomena. This reissues the entire album, along with 13 very good to excellent bonus tracks, taken from early demos. This not an especially rare album, so it's lack of a great reputation has always surprised me. About as good of a progressive rock/jazz-rock album as was released anywhere in the world in 1977. Recommended.
