“High end 180g black vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with the original artwork including all lyrics! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of their debut album, the prog rock icons are releasing their first four albums as special vinyl editions. Their second album was originally released in the summer of 1971, and was produced by Tony Visconti, like their debut album. The tracks on the album are less blues and soul inspired, and more experimental and varied; in the words of the band, more 'unique, adventurous and fascinating'.”

Gentle Giant's 2nd album, and, for the time it was released in 1971, a very adventurous rock work I remember getting this around 1974/75 and reading the liner notes and devouring the following: "It is our goal to expand the frontiers of popular music at the risk of being very unpopular. We have recorded each composition with one thought - that it should be unique, adventurous and fascinating. It has taken every shred of our combined musical and technical knowledge to achieve this."
Only in the late 60's or very early 70's was a statement like that a *selling* point! This is a very ambitious rock album and a fairly major statement fairly major statement in many ways; not their peak, but a peak of adventurousness in 1971 and their first masterpiece.
