Giltrap, Gordon - Live At Oxford (24-bit remastered) (Mega Blowout Sale)

SKU 23-ECLEC 2409
Gordon Giltrap is an acoustic guitarist who, during the 70s, managed to cross-over into the progressive rock arena, where he made a few well liked and distinctive releases of the era, with some great personnel involved as well.

"A newly remastered and expanded edition of the classic album “LIVE AT OXFORD” by GORDON GILTRAP. For over forty years Gordon has enjoyed the well-deserved reputation as one of Britain’s greatest guitar players. He made his first recordings in the 1960s as folk artist, but by 1976 he had crossed into the Progressive Rock genre and signed to the newly formed Electric Records imprint. He recorded three albums for the label; “VISIONARY”, “PERILOUS JOURNEY” (featuring the hit single “Heartsong”) and “FEAR OF THE DARK.
“LIVE AT OXFORD” was recorded by the RAK Mobile studio at Oxford Polytechnic in March 1979, and the album captured Gordon Giltrap and his band in fine form. Joining Gordon on acoustic and electric guitars was a line-up of JOHN GUSTAFSON (bass), ROD EDWARDS (keyboards), SHIRLIE RODEN (keyboards, percussion, vocals) and IAN MOSLEY (drums).
This Esoteric Recordings edition is newly remastered from the original tapes and also features a lavishly illustrated booklet with new essay and interview with Gordon Giltrap."
