Gnidrolog - ...In Spite of Harry's Toenail (expanded) (Mega Blowout Sale)

SKU 23-AACD 031
Gnidrolog were a somewhat obscure, early 70's UK progressive band who recorded two albums, both of which were originally released in 1972.
Sometimes it sounds a little like Gryphon, at other times a hint of VDGG shows, but mostly it sounds like Gnidrolog. Definitely quirky and perhaps an acquired taste, but a really good band who never really had the chance to develop the audience they deserved.
This includes 2 previously unreleased tracks from 1969 and 2 previously unreleased BBC recordings from 1971.

"The band was originally formed in 1969 and recorded their first album for RCA Records in November 1971. Featuring a line up of COLIN GOLDRING (lead vocals, guitars, recorder, tenor sax, horn, harmonica), STEWART GOLDRING (lead guitar, vocals), PETER "MARS” COWLING (bass, cello) and NIGEL PEGRUM (percussion, flute, oboe, piano), GNIDROLOG’s debut was a mixture of Progressive styles which saw the band compared by critics to cohorts such as GENTLE GIANT and VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR. Although failing to sell in huge quantities, GNIDROLOG’s status has grown over the years with their original vinyl albums reaching huge sums among collectors."
