Happy The Man - Crafty Hands

SKU 01-MUSEA4314
Seriously needed reissue of the second of the two Arista albums (the only records released during the band's lifetime) by the band I & many others consider to be the greatest US symphonic band of all time. They used a great dual keyboards/ woodwinds plus guitar front line, with great rhythm section & an amazing sense of dynamics. Some vocals, but not too much. If you like "progressive rock" & you don't own this, you are missing out! This was their 2nd. This is the Musea version with photos and liner notes, as the US edition has sadly gone out of print...

One of the great progressive rock classics of the 70's. Happy The Man were one of the more significant American progressive rock bands, and this record is one of the reasons why. Somehow, this band managed to get on Arista, a label known for signing veteran performers and trying to break them into the charts (sometimes with disastrous results). I'm also not entirely sure how this album slipped past Arista boss Clive Davis. You don't get the feeling here that tehse guys went out of their way to give Clive something that had "Top 40 potential". They just made a pair of albums (this being the second) that contained some fantastic music. And who cares if it wasn't radio friendly?! Airplay is overrated anyway!!! ROCK ON!!!!
