Iceberg - Tutankamon

SKU 15-PICAP 802026
Iceberg were the premier fusion outfit from Spain during the 1970's. They released five albums between 1975-1978, of which this 1975 release is the first, and this is the first time it's been released on CD. Unlike their others, this features a quintet with about half the songs having vocals (the fifth member is a saxist who also sings) and the sound is definitely more in the "progressive rock with fusion overtones" than the full-out fusion sound of their next four releases.

"Tutankhamon was an astonishing debut abum, already revealing in talents of Sunyer and Mas in some incredible electric guitar and synthesizer interplay. The instrumental sections fused Spanish jazz-rock with influences from British symphonic rock (King Crimson, Genesis and Yes 1972-74)...indeed this is a good starting point for newcomers to Spanish progressive rock."-Scented Gardens of the Mind
