This is the third album by the the large scale Itibere Orquestra Familia. It is led by Itibere Zwarg, Hermeto Pascoal's long-time bassist and it has a lot of Unlike their last one, this one featues original tunes by Itibere and even though he's the composer, there are a lot of musical moves that will remind you of the greatness of Hermeto. Some tracks feature a very large number of players and some tracks feature much less.

"Contrastes is the 3rd CD by Itiberê Orquestra Família in which all compositions are crafted by Itiberê Zwarg (bass and tuba player of Hermeto Pascoal Group) with exception of “Feitinha pra Nós” that is by Hermeto, but arranged by Itiberê. In the last decade Hermeto is quiet and all components of his group are taken several parallel and the Itiberê Orquestra Família is there for 10 years now. Started as permanent workshop for young musicians and now is a consistent and tight large ensemble playing Itiberê´s music. This new CD brings more diverse music for different combinations of line ups, bringing a huge and fresh diversity in sounds. There are duos, trios, quartets and several compositions for the full blast of the large ensemble. Ten years composing, arranging and playing with the same group show up here in this mature work by the great Itiberê and his Orquestra Família."
