Kaiser, Henry - A Little Stroke of Light

SKU HK-Stroke
This is the release that Henry was referring to in the notes to Everything Forever when he said he regretted releasing something only 70' long. Well, I'm gonna stick up for 70'. 70' can be a good thing. This CD, for example, is a very good thing. It shows a real consolidation of the many styles that HK enjoys playing in and brings them all together into this wild but still meditative solo guitar piece.

There is a contemplative mellowness to this piece that is sustained throughout. So this very long solo is not stylistically unlike others such as Blame It On the Tonkori, and the tune Where Endless Meets Disappearing, in ways and places, I mean, you could guess it's Henry Kaiser. At the same time, this expanded format lends itself to a considered development, and the gradualness of the change is very relaxing. Bought a copy for my masseuse.
