King Crimson - Lark's Tongues In Aspic: 40th Anniversary Edition CD + 5.1 / hi-res DVD-A (expanded / remixed / remastered)
Yes, the previous four studio albums were anywhere from very good to amazing, but this album signaled a new beginning and the emergence of a band that was one of the great, far-reaching groups whose influence is still being felt to this day and which introduced the insane double-drumming line-up of Bill Bruford and Jamie Muir (which only lasted long enough to record this album).
This is the latest and possibly most greatly anticipated in the 40th anniversary series which feature remixed by Steven Wilson and more bonus stuff than you can shake a porcupine at. Included here on the CD is the new stereo mix and 3 alternate mixes. The DVD, which is the real treasure, contains a 5.1 remix of the album, the new stereo mix in 24/96 and 24/48, the original album mix and - most importantly - their complete Beat Club VIDEO performance which is 40' long, almost all of it never seen before and which is worth the purchase price by itself! A real highlight is Jamie using a bag of leaves as a 'percussive'. Ungodly recommended!
