Klimperei are a long-lived French ensemble who use simple, but often haunting melodies, toy (& real) instruments, humor, surrealism and elements of minimalism. Their music is child-like in the best sense. Sorta like Hamster Theatre playing with toy instruments. This 2004 release is a little less heavy on the toys and is heading a bit in a new direction for them, while still being recognizably them; maybe a cross of the old Klmperei with L'Ensemble Raye?
