"Former member of one of the most acknowledged bands in the field of progressive rock in Mexico, Nirgal Vallis, composer José Luis Fernández Ledesma (keyboards, guitars, composition) is a prolific musician who has worked in the fields of progressive symphonic rock and experimental/RIO music. “Designios” features JLFL joined by other top-notch musicians who later became SAENA, his new band, including Alejandro Sánchez (ex-Nazca and Decibel) on violin, vocalist Margarita Botello, and Julio Sandoval, also a member of the last incarnation of Nirgal Vallis. The musical palette also includes bassoon, clarinet, oboe and assorted percussion. The music in this albums is influenced by the classic progressive rock masters (Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant), chamber music and latin music twists. In “Designios”, JLFL frees from obscurity two old compositions of unmatchable greatness: An invigorating re-recording of “Abismo” and, for the first time, “Los Designios de Géminis”, well suited as a musical tribute of one of the legendary Nirgal Vallis.
