Lost World - Trajectories
Using violin, guitar, bass, flute, keyboards, percussion and vocals, some of this is astonishingly great, classically-inspired progressive rock. "Formed in 1996 by three Moscow Conservatory students - Alexander Akimov, Andrei Didorenko, and Vasily Solovyev – Lost World was one of a very few Russian progressive art-rock groups who were picked up by the respected Boheme Music record-label. Classically trained musicians, all participants were competent enough to compose and play though complex but soulful music which was far beyond the crafted interpretation of classics but tended to reflect their own personal vision of rock-music. Per se, they still remain the only Russian progressive outfit who dares to explore territories of classical art-rock combining intricate instrumentations with intimate Russian lyrics and romantic vocalizations. Too complicated to be favorites of the broad masses and too gentle to be perfect for the advance-thinking radicals, they chose in some sense to be lost from the modern local prog-scene."
