"Excellent second album from this British prog band that recorded for the Transatlantic label. You know I actually liked their first album a bit more but revisiting this I forgot how good Arena is. The band was led by the Hasson brothers - vocalist Fred and keyboardist Leary. More organ and Mellotron than you can shake a stick at thank you, augmented by flute, sax and guitar. Arena is a concept album, produced by Peter Bardens. The band fits squarely in the early British prog sound - file these guys alongside Spring, Gracious, Fantasy - albeit with some slight jazzy undertones. This was available on CD years ago on Line Records and has been out of print for some time. This new reissue is coordinated by Mark Powell so expect detailed liner notes and very good sound.
