John Mayall has had a musical career for 7 decades, mostly in the blues, specifically electric blues, but in 1969, possibly the year of supremecy for white, loud English electric blues bands, many of whom had formed themselves in the image of his earlier electric albums, he formed a new band which was acoustic oriented and featured no loud lead guitars and no drums. Yes, it’s still blues – kind of an interesting and unique folk blues.
This period of his band is what’s represented here in what is a never released / never before released (?) film soundtrack. The sound is ‘only’ good bootleg, but I know that there are people reading this who are very fond of this unique and fairly short-lived band.
