“The concern with these kinds of recordings tends to be about sound quality. Well I am not really an audiophile, but personally I found no problems in this department at all, all four instruments come over clear and crisp.
Onto the content, this has to be an essential purchase for any PM fan, the reason being that it covers a previously undocumented period. By the time of the superb "Travels" they had incorporated both the guitar synth and Nana Vasconcelos on vocals and percussion, whereas this CD showcases the band live at the high water mark of their earlier phase as a more straightforward quartet, with tracks taken evenly from both the first two albums and an interesting, unreleased track called "The Magician's Theater" which is in a similar vane to other tracks from American Garage and could easily have found its way onto that record.”

"This live recording draws heavily from [American Garage], so it's a real treat for me, since most of (all of?) those tunes never showed up on an "official" PMG live release. Plus you get a live "Unity Village" with Lyle, Mark and Danny, which ranks with the original on "Bright Size Life". And what has to be one of (if not) the first recordings of "James", which Pat tells us is as yet untitled, and only about 10 days old at the time of this concert.
All this adds up to make this a special release. Sound is good for what was originally FM broadcast, no complaints there. This has been in heavy rotation since it arrived, and has been the impetus to dig out my other PM CD's that I haven't listened to in a while. For fans of early PMG, especially anyone like me with a soft spot for "American Garage", you should check this out.”
