Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses - Manfauna CDEP

SKU LATTITUDESGMT014
Many people discovered this great band, which is led by Daniel O'Sullivan of Guapo, with their first release, Perils. That was a few years ago and everyone has been waiting for something else and now it is finally here. This is a 21:20 CDEP, produced in a numbered, limited edition of 1,000 copies in nice, silk-screened packaging. They refer to themselves as "Victoriana-prog", which is actually pretty funny if you think about it. Same as last time, I hear a more straight-forwardly RIO/avant progressive style than Guapo; it's less loud and intense, and uses more acoustic instrumentation along with the 'rock' elements. They conjure up elements of Univers Zero (especially Andy Kirk's tunes), Astor Piazzolla, Regular Music, Ahvak, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Miriodor, Nimal and more of the usual suspects, most of whom you will often find on these pages here! The personnel is: Daniel O'Sullivan-guitar, harmonium, Orlando Harrison-piano, organ, Sara Hubrich-violin, viola, Leo Smee-bass and Dave Smith-drums, percussion, with guest Chloe Herington-bassoon. I think that this is better than their (very excellent) first. We have a lot, but not an unlimited supply, so please don't hesitate if you want this!
