“I've been a fan of Pendragon for many years and have to say that this new release fits with the classic Pendragon sound of some earlier albums. Do not misunderstand me, this album is not a simple rehash of days gone by - it feels fresh, sounds lush and ALL the tracks are so well constructed - and its so so easy to get lost in this music - it also carries subtle familiar motifs that made Pendragon such a well loved band.
Love over Fear was obviously made with much love and devotion. It has a strong nautical/coastal feel to it. Many of the songs feel geared around strong natural forces and it features some lovely mandolin and violin playing in a surprising and rousing prog-jig! As always with Pendragon, the musicianship and production is faultless - all the components of the Pendragon sound are here in abundance - soaring guitars, emotive solos, atmospheric keys, delicious piano, thumping melodic bass all chasing the wonderful drums and percussion that make it a brilliant album. Maybe the strongest Pendragon album to date. Nick Barretts vocals have never sounded better and all in all, this is a stunning album and highly recommended to Prog Rock fans and mainstream followers of high quality, joyous music.”-Andrew Glennon
