Perigeo were an excellent, Italian jazz/rock band of the mid-late 70s. They released a number of really fine albums (none of their albums are sub-par). They are probably the best known Italian fusion band in the USA (a couple of their releases were even released in the US).
All instrumental, these feature great melodies performed on guitar, saxes & electric piano/synths on top of a solid rhythm section. If I were to compare them to a better known fusion band, I would choose Weather Report, but they definitely have their own flair & flavor. Their releases belong in any serious fusion collection.
Although not released in their lifetime, this has the band in the middle of their great run performing at the longest running Jazz Festival in Europe! This was originally released on CD only in 1993, and this is the first time it has been available on vinyl!
