Pig Soul - Chorume da Alma

This is the 1st release by a new band (keyboards, guitar, bass, drums) from Brazil. They combine modern 'slice and disc' cut ups with a heavy avant-progressive/rehearsal intensive style stuff. Hints of Decibel, Blast, Brown vs Brown as well as more 'modern' exponents such as Les Rhinoceros, Seabrook Power Plant, etc. Really good stuff.

It's really great that stuff like this still gets put out. Sometimes they may be on the same turf as bands you've heard like UZ, Blast and outer fringe Crimson, but there are details these guys have an ear for that will smoke yer' jaded connoisseur brain in a good and different way than any of the above.
