Premiata Forneria Marconi - Chocolate Kings (expanded / 24-bit remaster) 2 x CDs

SKU 23-Manticore 2008
P.F.M.'s fifth album from 1975 is a fine album, although it is a little late in the band's life to be considered one of their greatest greats (you'll have to look at the first three for that, imo). It's the last with their great original flautist/violinist Mauro Pagani, who was the main composer for this album and his departure was a big blow to the band, I think, although there was still a huge amount of talent left in the group. Still completely worth owning; keep in mind that PFM's 'not quite top tier' is still a lot higher than a lot of bands ever hit! This fantastic edition has a cool booklet, remastered sound and an entire, professionally recorded disc of the band recorded live on May 1, 1976! Recommended!

"This new edition of the album has been newly remastered and includes an additional CD of previously unreleased live material recorded at Nottingham University on the band's 1976 UK tour, along with a lavishly illustrated booklet, new essay and fully restored artwork."
