Quebec, Ike - Four Classic Albums Plus Bonus Singles 4 x CDs (Mega Blowout Sale)

SKU 15-RGJ 491
I'm a big fan of Ike Quebec, one of the hugely under-rated tenor voices of all time.

"Influenced by Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster but definitely his own person, Ike Quebec was one of the finest swing-oriented tenor saxmen of the 1940s and '50s. Though maybe not as innovative as some of his peers, Quebec had a big, breathy sound that was distinctive and made him a cornerstone of many a recording session.
This set features the Blue Note albums Heavy Soul (1962), It Might As Well Be Spring (1962), Blue And Sentimental (1962) and Bossa Nova Soul Samba (1962) as well as six of his Blue Note singles-only tracks, designed for jukebox play."
