Ragnarok were one of the great instrumental Swedish bands of the 1970s. The only thing they were lacking was a large number of releases. Their sound used multiple guitars and a big, expressive vibrato sound that was almost 'desert rock' in tone (albeit 25 years before that style existed!) In a big surprise, the band has reformed for the 1st time in 25 years and featuring members who all played in the original 70s incarnation of the band (there were some line-up switcheroos going on with them, but everyone here played on at least one of their classic period albums. Basically, it sounds like them without sounding retro. A very good return and recommended safely to their fans and also to fans of impressionistic guitar-based instrumental rock.
