Rigoni/Schoenherz - Victor (remaster)

SKU 25-MIG-CD-422
Originally released in 1975, this is a classic progressive rock album that is very much of the time and the scene. It was a double-album with gatefold sleeve and giant 24 page booklet (all of which are reproduced in this package) the album is even subtitled "A Symphonic Poem"! It's a concept album performed on keyboards and drums with the addition of a full band and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Academy Choir! They sure don't make budgets for recordings like they used to! This ends up sounding somewhere between 'progressive hard rock with an orchestra' (think early Deep Purple with the Royal Philharmonic) and German symphonic rock with an orchestra (like if Nektar had ever recorded with an orchestra).

This is a Masterpiece. Especially the orchestral works, totally outstanding. Stravinsky or Prokofiev couldn´t do it better!! Above that it is a story that really touch everyone who has heard this awesome CD. If it is interesting Peter Wolf, keyboardist with Frank Zappa 1977-1979, appeared here as well. Highest recommendation, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would give it 10... LB from Sweden
