Rudi Tchaikovsky - The Castle’s Equivalent CD (Mega Blowout Sale)

SKU SCD 016
“Their blatantly deranged name conceals long Yes and Genesis like progressive rock artistry and British Progressive Neo Classicism from the intellectual leftfield choice of Greatest Year of Music, 1973.
Extended complex tracks, keyboard and guitar interplay and unusual lyrics. Like most such noodling prog rock masterpieces, recorded in an English barn, in a field somewhere that is forever prog.”

“They cited classic prog acts like Genesis, Yes and King Crimson as main influences, but I can hear more of a CREAM/WISHBONE ASH combination, flavored by melodic parts and some proggy experiments, that often lead to the land of nowhere. Very long tracks with great vocals, stretched psychedelic and jamming sections, some well-constructed jazz rock moves and lots of electric guitar, electric piano, clavinet and synth layers.
A combination of psychedelic prog and jazz with sparse funky outlines and also sporadic CAMEL-esque melodies. Weird stuff, propably the live show allowed a much looser approach of their compositions. Apparently they disbanded the same year with no further known documents.”-rym
