Seffer, Debora - Debora Seffer (special

"Debora Seffer is the daughter of sax player Yoch'ko Seffer, and since the early nineties has been considered as a violin virtuoso, but also an outstanding jazz-fusion composer. This new album, engineered by Mark Haliday, under the musical direction of Didier Lockwood, is exceptional: Debora's vocals are full of feeling and groove, and these nine pieces explore new musical territories. This brilliant musical fusion is still jazz music, with blues, ethnic and electronic elements. Thierry Maillard's elegant fender Rhodes parts, Jean-My Truong's (of Zao) versatile drumming, are the musical basis of a sophisticated and worked-out music. An excellent album!"

Nepotism? No. Family influence (genius)? Yes. This is great. Great playing, innovation, recording, songs, singing. Top notch. This best of this cd is as good as Gilgoul, but more accessible. It blew me away. Sexy, too. World-Jazz in the best sense of the phrase.
