SKU 10-PROPER2088
Released on Proper, a great UK label who do an amazing job in terms of packaging, presentation and especially in terms of sonics. This is important, basic repertoire material. A great place to hear some of his best stuff and at a amazing price.

"Horace Silver was one of the first and most important pioneers of the "hard bop" style of jazz in the early '50s, a flexible style that incorporated elements of BeBop, R&B and gospel music. This Intro includes key tracks recorded between 1952 and 1955 when he was one of the most sought after pianists in jazz music. We find him in a trio format with Curley Russell and Art Blakey, and with his Jazz Messengers that included Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley and Blakey."
