Soft Machine - The Soft Machine CD (expanded)

SKU 28-UICY 79456
This is the 1st album that cememted the band's underground reputation in 1968. The Soft Machine, their debut, was recorded by the trio of Mike Ratledge-Hammond organ maximus, Kevin Ayers-bass and vocals and Robert Wyatt-drums and vocals.
Recorded at the end of their first US tour supporting the Jimi Hendrix Experience in spring, 1968, it's a psychedelic classic with some nice avant-garde touches.
Remastered and maybe it sounds a little better or maybe it doesn't, but it's basically their live set captured in the studio and it rocks and howls.
The bonus is their debut single, "Love Makes Sweet Music/Feelin' Reelin' Squeelin'" appearing on CD for the very first time, afaik.

If, like me, you only owned the 1990 cd release on One Way, this is a clear improvement soundwise. Almost as much as the new vs. old Beatle CDs.
