TYFT - Smell the Difference

This is the third album by guitarist Hilmar Jensson's great jazz/postrock/whatever ensemble. Hilmar and the (great) drummer here, Jim Black, also play in Alas No Axis, and TYFT definitely has a somewhat comparable sound to Alas. The band is larger now, also featuring Andrew D'Angelo-alto sax and bass clarinet, Chris Speed-tenor sax and clarinet and Peter Evans-trumpet. This is a wonderful album, filled with both rock power and jazz (and vice-versa). Recommended!
