SKU 21-MVD5068X
Previously unreleased R&B from Muddy Waters (1958) Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee (1958), Louis Jordan (1962) and more recorded live at the Manchester Free Trade Hall in England.

"This second volume of rare and previously unissued live recordings features Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Muddy Waters & Otis Spann, Champion Jack Dupree and Louis Jordan. Precious little live material from these artists has survived into the 21st century and these recently unearthed concerts from the 50s and 60s are a revelation. The sound is near perfect as they were recorded for radio broadcast; the material is fantastic, capturing the transition from rhythm and blues to early rock n roll. The players are in their element, playing live to a packed house. These recordings are historical documents of the utmost importance and capture these bonafide legends like nothing else. British Jazz giant Chris Barber is the man responsible for bringing some of the most legendary and influential U.S Blues acts of all time to UK and European concert halls. These concerts were a huge influence on British youth and the first wave of British R&B bands like the Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds. Barber recently discovered these recordings, thought to be long lost or erased. Many of these versions have not been heard since the original concert broadcasts. For fans of American rhythm & blues and gospel, these recordings are a revelation."
