Weather Report - Live in Germany 1971 DVD

All I can say is, "oh, my, god". This stupendous DVD, probably filmed in mid 1971 and recorded for Beat Club TV (only a very small portion of the set was broadcast in August, 1971) features a great line up of Weather Report (Alphonze Mouzon-drums, Dom Um Romao-percussion, Miroslav Vitous-bass, Wayne Shorter-saxes and Joe Zawinul-piano and keyboards). This is nearly 50' of stunning, fantastic, clear footage, and this is the band really soaring and flying and helping to invent and define jazz-rock. Wonderful beyond belief. Highly recommended

Just watched this again (...and how many DVDs can you even say THAT about?). This even had my 5 month old daughter shaking her toys along with the music! It might sound crazy, but if it appeals to kids that young,...well,they must have hit some kind of "universality" in sound. The jam at the show's end is just too good, ending in an actual song sung by Alphonze Mouzon!! Where did Miroslav Vitous go after this anyway? His bass here is a real highlight too. Excellent.
