Zao - Live in Tokyo

SKU 01-MUSEA 4699
I saw a lot of great concerts when I went to Le Tritonales festival in Paris in 2004, but one of many of the hugely enjoyable concerts I saw was seeing the reformed Zao, with original members Yochk'o Seffer-saxes, Francois Cahen-keyboards and bassist Gerard Prevost-bass along with Francois Cause (the drummer of Offering, among others) and vocalist Cynthia Saint-Ville, whose wordless vocals recreates the sound of Zao's very first album when they had vocalist Mauricia Platon in the band. I remember sitting in the club and thinking "Man! I never thought I'd get to see Gerard Prevost play, let alone see Zao play!" It was a great show. This was recorded right around the same time, in early June, 2004 and they are performing all Zao classics, and with the tasty addition here of KBB violinist Akihisa Tsuboy (I didn't get to see him in Paris with Zao!), this is a pretty swell release of French jazz/rock.
