Zao were probably the best known and the top pure fusion band to emerge from France in the 70's, releasing a number of classic albums. What a treat to have this recording of Zao live at Jacky Barbier's legendary L'Ouest de la Grosne Club from December 5th, 1976. This was recorded after the release of Kawana, and shortly after Yochk'o Seffer left the band to pursue his solo career. So, this features a unique line-up of Francois Cahen-electric piano/synths, Didier Lockwood-violin, Gerard Prevost-bass and Jean My Truong-drums. The sound is not professionally perfect, but it's quite good and the playing is excellent, with tons of room for Didier to soar.
