4 Synfon are a 4 piece Polish electric jazzband (trumpet, alto sax, electric bass, drums) led by trumpeter Zdunek, who contributed all the compositions bar one. 3 of the pieces are based on Polish folk songs, which is really interesting to hear and all of the playing is excellent. Guests are heard on vocals, flugelhorn, trombone, tenor horn and tuba, but the backbone of this album is squarely on the 4 piece ensemble - as it should be.
