"Although many former fans have pooh-poohed the merits of this long-lived Japanese group since the departure of the great Cotton Casino, its 26th (or so) album is totally solid. With new singer Nao, plus excellent use of flute, acoustic guitars and serious krautly electronics, Acid Mothers display themselves to excellent advantage here. There are gobs of Atom Heart/Ummagumma--era Floyd damage splattered liberally across the overloaded guitar landscape one expects from their recordings, and the results are deliciously bong-filling.
