Chafouin are a guitar, bass and drums trio from France who say about themselves ‘Chafouin is kraut-expérimental-noise-pop-rock’. But this is not that.
This is that trio along with guests on wordless vocals, violin, sax, flute, accordion and keyboards.
The overall sound ends up somewhere between early UK minimalist/classical ensembles such as The Lost Jockey, The Michael Nyman Group, Andrew Poppy and Regular Music, combined with Arnold Dreyblatt or the gentlest side of Horse Lords.
This is a super good one if you like any of the groups listed above or minimalism and drones. Highly recommended.
