Kenny Dorham was a under-rated composer and trumpeter of the 40s through the 60s, whose last studio album was recorded in 1964, although he continued playing at least into the late 60s (he died in 1972).
This features the also under-rated and greatly under-recorded Sonny Red.
Excellent sound for previously unreleased 1967 recordings.

“This is a never-before-released recording of jazz trumpet icon Kenny Dorham captured live at the Blue Morocco jazz club in The Bronx, NY in 1967 featuring Sonny Red, Cedar Walton, Paul Chambers and Denis Charles. Transferred from the original tape reels that were recorded by legendary engineer Bernard Drayton. The CD contains an elaborate 36-page booklet includes liner notes by jazz author and scholar Bob Blumenthal; plus interviews/statements with artists who knew or were inspired by Kenny Dorham.”
