This is the fourth release from a zeuhl-ish septet + more who bring enough originality to the table that they got themselves signed to Magma’s label for their first two album!! Note that the keyboardist is Camille of Ghost Rhythms (although he doesn’t contribute compositionally) This is really good. They are really good!
“Album recorded live at Le Zèbre in Belleville on March 8th of 2024, during the Soleil Zeuhl festival (three evenings from March 6th to 8th). With a total running time of 69 minutes, it features two long suites, each divided into sections: ‘Maniacus’ from their debut album (‘Freedom Now!’, 2016) and “L’île Mystérieuse” from their latest 2023 album of the same name.
These live versions reveal another side of the band, distinct from their studio work, more direct and full of energy in front of an enthusiastic audience. Mixed from the multitrack tapes of Bastien Boissier’s excellent sound engineering during the festival.”
